The latest batch of games have been announced for the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, and in September, subscribers can look forward to neon-soaked VR action, a plucky day-one release, and the coolest of cats. Last month was primarily themed around around the TimeSplitters and Sword Art Online franchises, but this month, there’s a more varied selection of games to check out, starting September 17.
If there is a common thread to be found, it’s that this month’s games are more focused on thoughtful and contemplative themes, ranging from the conspiratorial survival-horror of Chernobylite to the wonderful weirdness of Night in the Woods. Then you’ve got a road trip across a totalitarian nation in Road 96, oceanic despair in Under the Waves, and the doomsday atmosphere of Far Cry 5. For something more lighthearted, The Plucky Squire looks like a delightful new game to check out, and Secret Agent Clank is a fantastic PSP classic to revisit.
As a reminder, all PS Plus subscribers can also claim this month’s free games, as Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, MLB: The Show 24, and Little Nightmares 2 are available to download.
