The latest season of Diablo 4 has arrived, bringing a fresh season with new content and another battle pass. Season 5, Season of the Infernal Hordes, adds new seasonal story quests, along with a new activity. The new activity, the Infernal Hordes, is a Vampire Survivors-inspired mode, where you have to survive through seemingly endless waves of monsters, earning tons of loot and gold along the way. If you can survive the hordes and defeat enough enemies to collect a large amount of Aether, there are multiple tiers of chests you can open to gain even more materials and rewards.
As you do the new seasonal activity and complete various questlines you will earn battle pass XP. Diablo 4 battle passes feature 90 tiers of rewards, about a third of which are free rewards. The rest of the rewards are part of the premium battle pass, which costs about $10 to purchase. There is also an accelerated version of the battle pass that automatically unlocks the first 20 tiers, which costs about $25. The main premium items in the battle pass include the Awoken Archenemy Armor Sets and the Awoken Aetheric Steed Mount.
Diablo 4 Season 5 also makes a few adjustments to the flow of the game, with increased XP gain in the early levels, to help players reach the late-game faster. Uber Uniques have also been renamed to Mythic Uniques and are now a distinct purple color when they drop, making it much easier to spot them.
