Get The Adorable Baby Groot Lego Set For Just $30

If Star Wars has Baby Yoda, then Baby Groot is undeniably the cute face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Naturally, there’s a whole lot of merchandise out there for the adorable Florian, but it doesn’t get any better than this cute Lego set that allows you to build your own Groot and have some fun with the little Guardian of the Galaxy. Normally $55, you can pick up this 476-piece Groot Lego set for only $30 this week at Amazon and Target.

Note: Target says orders placed today will arrive later this week, but Amazon has clearly been hit with an influx of orders, as the retailer currently estimates a one- to two-month wait. The only downside with Target is you’ll need to reach the $35 mark to get free shipping, whereas Groot is eligible for Prime shipping at Amazon. That said, Target has a bunch of notable Lego deals this week, including a display model of Star-Lord’s Helmet, which is exclusive to Target. Other Target-exclusive Lego Marvel sets on sale include Spider-Man’s Mask and Wolverine’s Adamantium Claws from X-Men ’97.

So what’s so great about this Baby Groot figure? Beyond the fact that he looks just like the real Marvel deal–but with a Lego aesthetic–he’s also easy to pose thanks to all of the movable joints in his limbs and head. So you can recreate some of Groot’s best moments from the movies, such as his iconic dance-sequence to the tune of Mr. Blue-Sky from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

You can even build an Awesome Mix cassette tape, although you’ll probably want to avoid putting it in your grandfather’s tape deck. But you can put an actual, working Awesome Mix in the cassette player. The original soundtracks for all three films are available on cassette at Amazon.

Awesome Mix Cassettes

If you don’t have a cassette player in 2024, you could grab one of the newer models for cheap, such as the Reshow Walkman for $29.75 (was $35). The Awesome Mix Collection (all three volumes) is also available on CD for $50 or vinyl for $89.

Marvel Dancing Groot

Though he’s not as cute, Lego recently released a Groot set that really does dance. Marvel Dancing Groot moves when you turn the crank on the back of his flower pot display stand. The flower pot also doubles as a storage compartment for some accessories, including headphones and sunglasses. You can buy Marvel Dancing Groot for $45 at Amazon–and this particular Groot set will ship immediately from Amazon.

Marvel Venomized Groot

$40 ($50)

If you want something more sinister, Venomized Groot is on sale for $40 (normally $50). Arguably cooler, this Lego set reimagines Groot if he’d bonded with the Venom symbiote. He looks delightfully evil, and while he doesn’t come with a mixtape, he does have the infamous long tongue, sharp teeth, and tentacles of the Venom symbiote. Like the Groot set above, he’s also easy to pose and you can choose to display him in a partially or fully transformed state.
