A new Lego set based on Jabba the Hutt’s sail barge from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi has been officially announced, and this one looks like a big display piece. With almost 4,000 pieces and 11 minifigures, this is priced at $500 and will go on sale exclusively at the Lego Store on October 3 for Lego Insiders–and they’ll also get the cute Lego Star Wars: Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber for free–and October 6 for the general public.
Once fully constructed, the set measures an impressive 77cm (30 inches) long, and it’s filled with several detailed rooms like Jabba’s entertainment room, a kitchen, a cockpit, an armory, and a brig for any unruly guests or uppity Jedi knights. As for the minifigures, here’s the full list of them included with this set:
- C3PO
- R2D2 (in drinks-serving mode)
- Bib Fortuna
- Max Rebo
- Vizam
- Kithaba
- Wooof
- Princess Leia
- Gamorrean Guard
- Salacious Crumb
- Jabba the Hutt
Billed as an adult collector’s piece, the set comes with a display plate listing all the cool details of the sail barge, such as its manufacturer, top speed, weapons layout, and more. Jabba himself isn’t as articulated as the other Lego minifigures, but you can wiggle his arms up and down, which will be useful if you want to recreate the scene where Leia strangles the infamous crime lord to death. The rest of the sail barge is full of nods to the action-packed scene in Return of the Jedi, when Luke Skywalker, Leia, Chewbacca, and Lando Calrissian hatched a cunning plan to rescue Han Solo from Jabba, culminating in an explosive escape for the Star Wars gang.
If you’re looking to pair the sail barge with another set, you can also pick up a Lego Sarlacc Pit that comes with a desert hover-skiff that includes minifigures of Chewbacca, Boba Fett, and Lando. This one is available now and is priced at $80.
Alternatively, the other Lego sets to check out right now include kits from the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked, Dungeons & Dragons minifigure packs, and the coolest Batmobile of all time, straight out of 1966.
