With 2K’s NBA 2K25 slowly approaching, we now have our first look at some of the most prominent athletes in the WNBA.
Both images that were shown off were posted on the official NBA 2K X/Twitter account. The first athlete shown off was Caitlin Clark, who plays for the Indiana Fever. She has been one of the breakout stars of the season, and she was first overall draft pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. In May, Clark was named Rookie of the Month.
Angel Reese is another rookie who’s made a name for herself this season. Reese currently plays for the Chicago Sky and is the seventh overall pick in the 2024 draft. Reese also received Rookie of the Month in June.
It’s also worth mentioning that having the WNBA in the 2K series is still fairly new. The league was barely added to the game just a few years ago in NBA 2K20.
NBA 2K25 is said to have “the biggest change to our gameplay engine in many years.” Some of these changes include the new dribble engine, new features for both offense and defense and even an option to create and share custom playbooks.
NBA 2K25 is scheduled to be released on September 6. It will be playable on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
