Terry Brooks Shannara Humble Bundle – Get 20 Books In The High Fantasy Series For $18

Terry Brooks’ Shannara high fantasy series began in 1997 with The Sword of Shannara. Dozens of novels and 40-plus years later, it concluded with The Last Druid in 2020. If you’ve never tried Brooks’ classic series, now’s a great time to dive in. Humble Bundle’s Shannara series deal includes up to 20 books for only $18. It doesn’t come with every book in the series, but less than one dollar per book is quite the bargain.

If you prefer physical books, you can get a hardcover edition of The Sword of Shannara Trilogy for $22 (was $40) at Amazon. This hardcover edition was released back in 2002 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series–it’s rather cool to see it still in print today. Keep in mind the original trilogy is also available in digital format for only $1 at Humble.

And if you want to balance your high fantasy with some experimental science fiction, Humble’s Jeff VanderMeer Weird World’s book bundle includes the acclaimed Southern Reach series and eight more books for $18–perfect timing since the unexpected fourth entry in the Southern Reach series, Absolution, releases this October.

The Shannara Humble Bundle comes in a variety of tiers. You can snag all 20 items in the bundle for just $18, though you’ll also find a nine-item bundle for $10 and a three-item bundle (the original trilogy) for $1. All 20 books would cost you around $173 when purchased individually, so $18 is a really good deal. All books are offered as digital copies through Kobo–meaning you’ll need to make a Kobo account to access them. Doing so takes just a few minutes and requires just an email address. You can download the Kobo Books reading app on iOS, Android, PC, and Mac.

Regardless of which bundle you pick up, it’s best to read The Sword of Shannara before moving on to other titles. This is the first book in the original trilogy, introducing you to The Four Lands and Shea Ohmsford–a young man attempting to retrieve the mythical Sword of Shannara and slay the Warlock Lord.

Shannara has an intricate backstory driving all the action, which includes a nuclear fallout that decimated Earth, the rediscovery of magic, and genetic mutations that have turned humanity into a variety of fantastical creatures. If you’re a fan of Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, or any sort of sci-fi or fantasy writing, there’s a lot to love about this sprawling series. Speaking of Tolkien’s classic fantasy trilogy, multiple new collector’s box sets are releasing in the coming months.

Aside from the Shannara Humble Bundle, there are plenty of other bundles worth checking out. This includes the Capcom Summer 2024 Bundle (Dead Rising, Ace Attorney, Street Fighter, and more), The Lego World Collide Bundle (Lego Marvel, Lego Star Wars, Lego Batman, and more), and the Tower Defense Bundle, which is packed with highly rated Steam games.
