The Lord of the Rings: Return To Moria Comes To Xbox And Steam Along With Cross-Play This Month

Developer Free Range Games has announced that Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will be coming to Xbox Series X|S and Steam on August 27, along with a bevy of new features.

Titled the Golden Update, cross-play will be implemented on all platforms, so PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic users will be able to host games with each other. The sandbox mode, which was previously only available in the Epic Games Store beta, will fully launch on all platforms and let players go through procedurally generated game worlds.

Some other features include a pause button for offline single-player, as well as more difficulty settings. This will let players adjust different aspects such as enemy aggression, combat, patrol frequency, and mining drops. There will also be new building parts, decorations, weapons, and armor.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a survival-crafting game that was released in October 2023 on PC, first as an Epic Games Store exclusive. It then came to PlayStation in December. It’s gotten mixed reviews so far, sitting at a 59 average on GameSpot’s sister site Metacritic.
