The fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy just released on Netflix on August 8, but if you’ve already streamed all six episodes and want more, you should check out the original comic book series the series is based on. The Deluxe edition of Apocalypse Suite is on sale for $20.72 (was $80). It’s listed as “temporarily out of stock” on Amazon, but you can still place an order. Bound in leatherette, this premium hardcover edition comes with a satin ribbon bookmark, foil stamping, a This hardcover edition comes with a leatherette binding, satin ribbon bookmark, a slipcase with eye-catching art, and a lithograph by Umbrella Academy illustrator Gabriel Bá. The lithograph is stored in a leatherette portfolio.
Volumes 2 and 3 in Deluxe edition format are markedly more expensive than Volume 1, but the hardcover Library editions are all available for around 20 bucks each. The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite is on sale for $19; The Umbrella Academy: Dallas is on sale for $21.69; and The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion is on sale for $22.49. All three have $40 list prices.
You can also snag the Deluxe edition of You Look Like Death: Tales From The Umbrella Academy, which compiles the first six issues of the Tales from The Umbrella Academy spin-off series. That book is on sale for $40.75, down from the usual cost of $80.
The Umbrella Academy Box Set includes the three main volumes of the story in paperback format: Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite, Umbrella Academy: Dallas, and Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion. It also includes an exclusive double-sided poster. The box set retails for $56, but while it’s on sale, Amazon has knocked $24 off that price.
If you’re not familiar with The Umbrella Academy, it’s the story of seven superpowered siblings who are brought together by an eccentric inventor, created by My Chemical Romance front man Gerard Way. The story begins with a strange event–43 children are born to mothers who seemingly weren’t pregnant until the moment they went into labor. Inventor Reginald Hargreeves sets out to find as many of the kids as he can, and ends up adopting seven of them, turning them into the titular Umbrella Academy. After a childhood of training their powers, the story picks up with the group 10 years after they’ve disbanded, with Hargreeves’ unexpected death.
